Inkitlabs Review
For a first time ordering with Inkitlabs, everything went well. For one, they are extremely helpful and answer all of your questions prior to your order. This helped me tremendously due to the fact that I was completely confused.
I found out that there were limits to what you could do with the charms. For example, the cute bat on black acrylic had some limitations. If I wanted to keep the silhouette, I would need a white outline around the entire thing. I personally didn't want it to have a white outline around the bat. If a design is too close to the edge, then Inkitlabs will have to offset the cutline to where your design wont be damaged by being too close to the edge while cutting. Since I didn't like it, Inkitlabs was kind enough to cancel my current order after I ordered up to the 1" clear acrylic charms. With the clear acrylic, I could keep my silhouette and they could do the offset needed for the design.
The packaging was done extremely well and I felt as if I was opening a present.... that I bought myself. Anyways I really liked how they used a box and put that inside of the padded envelope to add protection to my charms. Nothing Arrived Broken and they even printed a few extra just incase any were damaged or defective.
After Removing everything from the postage packaging, I was a weirdo and sat at my desk opening up the package to inspect the charms in all their glory.
Everything was packed all nice and snug, and even included a little checklist. I ordered mre than just my charms. I decided that I needed some samples & the maple wood palette example since I already purchase the acrylic one previously.
Another shot of the package to where I had half of it opened. The wood palette is nice, as are all of the little samples. I also got a gumdrop sample to complete my sample collection.
All the possibilities of what I can do with just these materials alone is insane. So many endless ideas keep popping up in my head, although I never seem to draw them out.(I need to stop being so lazy)
Here's a shot of the acrylic charms prior to me opening the bag. I was super excited and then got really sad when I thought that my design was backwards. However, They cover the front of the charm to protect it from getting scratched. To get the protective coating off I had to soak it in water. I stupidly did this at work & had to quickly peel it off while on a very short break. I forgot to take a picture of it soaking or me peeling it off, but it was really easy and quick. The water didn't damage the charms which is super amazing. For these charms, I chose 1" Clear Acrylic with Double Sided Printing that was the same image on both sides. The only downside to the clear acrylic is that it only comes in one thickness. The acrylic is midly thick, but surprisingly not heavy at all.
got a nice little batch of sample charms. I'm not sure if some of these were extra cuts or ifthey come standard in the set. All I know is that they are amazing & I get a better feel for what I can and cannot do. I'm getting excited to try and create new designs to turn into additional charms.
This order I bought the wood palette and gumdrop samples. The clear acrylic palette is from a separate order to get prepared to order acrylic charms. Palettes and samples are extremely nice & give me lots of ideas for future projects!
After putting my personal set together (Sterling Silver Earring Hooks & Nickel Free Jumper Rings), I started to take different types of beauty shots. I bought a bottle and A Blood of Bat Decorative bottle. These make some pretty background props.
The follow day during lunch, I took off my earrings & took them outside to take some additional product photographs in natural lighting. The little fountain is always a nice background for any photo.
The earrings are amazing & I am in love with them! I have no complaints about the quality of the charms at all! For a first time purchase, this went amazingly smooth & they were really helpful with my insane amount of questions before and during the ordering process.
On a Further note, I've seen previous review of Chillypig & Zapcreative, but I decided to go with Inkitlabs for quality (saw all the positive comments about them) and the fact that they are in the United States unlike Zapcreatives.
